Every year, the PWCCA Ways and Means Committee commissions an artist to create a unique design featuring a Pembroke which is put on a custom order by Louisville Stoneware. Every piece of Louisville Stoneware, whether it’s a plate or mug, is crafted, shaped and finished by hand. Founded in 1815, making it one of the oldest stoneware companies in the United States, it creates fanciful stoneware that is nationally renowned. Dishes made at the factory have been proven to be safe for use in ovens, microwave ovens, and dishwashers, and can retain heat for keeping food warm. Items from Louisville Stoneware are in the Smithsonian Institution and White House.
